Ever since his first class back in April of 2008, Chris has been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu 6 days a week (often multiple times per day). Chris initially began training just to find a fun hobby to do after school, but quickly realized that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu would be his career. After teaching at his instructor’s school for about 2 years, Chris moved to Maryland to join one of the most prestigious BJJ competition teams in country to pursue his tournament goals. After moving back to NJ in November of 2012, Chris opened up Garden State Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy in June of 2013.
Chris takes great pride in his work at GSBJJ and has made it his life mission to help students of GSBJJ reach their goals. Whether it’s getting in shape, training for competition, or even just getting involved in an awesome hobby; Chris is here to help.
In his free time, Chris enjoys watching movies, playing guitar, and hanging out with friends.

Here Is What Our MEMBERS Have To Say:
Great place to train. Everyone their has awesome attitudes. Chris and Danilo are great teachers who explain techniques down to the last little detail. I did private lessons with Chris when I was a white belt. I felt like I was hitting a wall and Chris helped me get my game to the next level. BJJ at Garden State has made me more fit than ever. Bjj will change your live for the better. I highly recommend Garden State BJJ to anyone in the Red Bank area, whether you’re interested in competing, learning the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, or just to get in shape.
I have been recently attending Fitness Classes at GardenState BJJ. Commuting from Old Bridge to the studio is not easy, but very worth it. I am getting some of the best workouts I have ever experienced. Chris is a master of his craft. He knew right away my strengths and weaknesses and started training me so that I could build from my weak areas. I feel stronger after every workout. The strength and endurance workouts have so much variety so it keeps my body guessing and in shape. The compliments I get from my friends is an added bonus! Chris has a great sense of humor and always makes my sessions so much fun. I’ve never been one to get excited about working out, but attending Fitness Classes at GardenState BJJ has changed that!
When I first started training bjj I was a little nervous and intimidated as to what to expect. Garden State BJJ put together an environment that is welcoming to all newcomers and makes them feel comfortable. Their guide and instruction for techniques is explained in a clear and articulate manner and their programs are organized in order for everyone to succeed.
I’ve trained at Garden State BJJ for a long time and have taken both of their classes. Not only do the coaches do well in competitions, but they are great at breaking down techniques and pointing out details. It’s difficult to find someone who is as good a teacher as they are a competitor, the coaches at Garden State BJJ fit the bill. I highly recommend Garden State BJJ to anyone in the Red Bank area, whether you’re interested in competing, learning the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, or just to get in shape.
