I find that it also helps harden up your strike game if your still in the early stages. For instance lighter styles of striking like boxing, american kickboxing, karate, hell even tae kwon do, all tend to just blend perfectly together with Muay Thai. It’s also cool that it’s about 1000 years old and is from Thailand. But I find Muay Thai adds a more 3 dimensional spectrum in the striking. In Thai, kicks are thrown in a very unique way that comes straight for your opponent, causing damage to the center of your opponents base, while other styles like karate throw kicks from the outside to get around the guard. This taught that even a foot away from your opponent your can connect with your shin if executed right.
